Howard Ellis started shooting professionally (film, that is!) in 1996. He was initially involved in Commercial photography. However, after seeing fantastic work from some truly talented Wedding Photographers, he really became excited about the Wedding market.

Howard began shooting in a studio in Willoughby in 1997 and shot a great many different subjects from products and large sets to many campaigns involving people, including both models and real, everyday people. At the same time, he shot weddings under his own name and for several highly regarded Sydney Wedding Photographers.

Howard’s style is obsessive with capturing a given moment with no or minimal interruption to the day’s events.Images are relaxed and as natural to the eye as he can possibly capture. When shooting a subject, Howard lives for capturing those special moments.

Howard is still determined to capture what he sees through the lens, although digital photography has given him the flexibility not possible with film.

“I believe there is nothing more rewarding than seeing an image as it happens. I know when I have shot something really special. A true photographer finds, creates and captures images that tell a story and are a pleasure to look at.”

Howard loves almost any photographic assignment, from Commercial Photography to Wedding and Portrait Photography. With long-term experience in the studio and out in the field, Howard Ellis has comprehensive experience and understanding of the art and practicalities of Photography.
